Bruno Fernandes has been named the EA SPORTS Premier League Player of the Month for March, drawing level with Cristiano Ronaldo on six career wins.

The Manchester United captain contributed two goals and four assists in just four league matches during a standout month. He is now one award short of the all-time record jointly held by Harry Kane, Sergio Aguero and Mohamed Salah.

Fernandes scored and assisted in a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace, added another assist against Newcastle United, produced two assists in a win against Aston Villa, and converted a penalty in the draw with AFC Bournemouth.

Fernandes reached 16 league assists for the season in March, surpassing David Beckham’s long-standing Manchester United record of 15 set in 1999 to 2000. He now sits four short of the Premier League single-season mark of 20, achieved by Thierry Henry and later matched by Kevin De Bruyne.

It is Fernandes’ first Player of the Month award since March 2025 and his fifth since a remarkable run in 2020. He becomes the second United player to win this season after Bryan Mbeumo claimed October’s prize.

The Portuguese midfielder topped a shortlist featuring James Garner of Everton, Morgan Gibbs-White of Nottingham Forest, Anthony Gordon, Alex Iwobi, David Raya and Danny Welbeck after votes from fans and experts were combined.

Meanwhile, Mikel Arteta has been named Barclays Manager of the Month after guiding Arsenal to a flawless March.

Mikel Arteta wins March Premier League Manager of the Year

The Gunners beat Chelsea, Brighton & Hove Albion and Everton to become the only side to win every Premier League match during the month. The run helped Arsenal open a nine-point lead over Manchester City in the title race.

It is Arteta’s eighth Manager of the Month award, lifting him level with Martin O’Neill and Harry Redknapp on the all-time list. He is now two short of Jurgen Klopp’s tally of 10.

Since taking charge in December 2019, Arteta has won more monthly awards than any other manager, ahead of Nuno Espirito Santo and Pep Guardiola.

The highlight of Arsenal’s month came in the win over Everton. With the match goalless late on, Arteta introduced 16-year-old Max Dowman, who forced the opener in the 89th minute and then scored in stoppage time to become the Premier League’s youngest goalscorer.

Arteta beat Eddie Howe, Fabian Hurzeler, Regis Le Bris and David Moyes to the award following combined votes from fans and a panel of experts.
