BREAKING: Court grants Nasir El-Rufai ₦100m bail

A federal high court in Abuja has granted bail to Nasir El-Rufai, former governor of Kaduna state in the sum of ₦100 million.

Justice Joyce Abdulmalik delivered the ruling on Monday, ordering that El-Rufai must provide one surety with the same bail amount.

The court ruled that the surety must reside in either Maitama or Asokoro districts of Abuja and must submit the original Certificate of Occupancy of a landed property to the court registry.

Justice Abdulmalik further directed that the surety must be a federal civil servant not below Grade Level 17 and provide evidence of salary payments covering at least three months.

According to the ruling, the documents submitted by the surety must also be authenticated through a letter issued by the surety’s bank manager within the court’s jurisdiction.
