A commercial tricycle rider from Imo State, Chijioke, has narrated how a frightening kidnap incident changed his life and forced him into operating a Keke for survival after returning to Nigeria from Malaysia.…....
Speaking in an interview with Punch Newspapers, Chijioke detailed how he was abducted by heavily armed men shortly after returning to his village in Imo State in 2019.
According to him, the incident happened on what appeared to be a normal day. He explained that he had gone out to fix his vehicle before he was ambushed by suspected kidnappers.
“I went to pump my tyre. After pumping the tyre then on my way going home, I was double-crossed with Pathfinder jeep. Four boys came out with AK-47,” he said.
Chijioke stated that the gunmen forcefully took him away and later demanded huge sums of money from his family before he could regain freedom. He added that the traumatic experience marked the beginning of severe financial and emotional difficulties for him and his relatives.
