Big Brother Naija winner Phyna has shared screenshots of her conversations with activist Vincent Otse Martins, popularly known as VeryDarkMan or VDM, accusing him of manipulation and misrepresenting their dealings.
The posts came after VDM publicly claimed that Phyna betrayed him while he was helping secure justice for her sister, Ruth, who was involved in an accident with a Dangote truck. Phyna responded with a series of Instagram story posts and screenshots to refute his claims.
In the chats she shared, Phyna alleged that VDM ignored her calls and messages when she reached out for assistance. She also accused him of selectively editing their conversations and portraying himself as the central figure in her sister’s case. One instance she highlighted involved a discussion with a mechanic, Beebex, about car repairs, where she said VDM mishandled the conversation and undermined her concerns.
“Manipulator,” Phyna wrote in one post, calling VDM a betrayer and expressing disappointment in his behavior. She also claimed that representatives of Dangote did not fear VDM as he had suggested, but were instead disgusted by his actions.
VDM had earlier said Phyna betrayed him after he intervened in her sister’s case. Following her response, he released new “rules of engagement,” stating that future sessions with people who approach him would be recorded to avoid what he called “sneaky patterns.” He listed others he said had turned against him after he helped them.
The public exchange has split opinions online. Some users backed Phyna, saying VDM should not have taken the matter to social media. Others defended VDM, arguing that he has consistently spoken out for victims without personal gain.
