Aisha Muhammed Oyebode, the co-convener of the Bring Back Our Girls Movement, has stated that Boko Haram tried to make some of the abducted Chibok schoolgirls believe that nobody cared about them while they were in captivity…....
In an interview with Rainbow Book Club, Oyebode said that whenever the Nigerian military dropped bombs on the camp of Boko Haram, the insurgents would tell the Chibok girls in captivity that the government was trying to kill them and was not interested in rescuing them
Oyebode added that she convince several Chibok girls who were freed that the government never abandoned them and that many Nigerians campaigned daily for their release.
In Aisha Oyebode’s words: “You know at that time we used to have air raids. Nigerian military used to send air raids into that area and everytime they bomb the community the Boko Haram will be like, ‘You see they are bombing, they want to kill you. Nobody is interested in having you.’ Which was not true”
