“The suspects were arrested on May 10, 2024 in Igboeze, Nsukka, and Enugu metropolis following actionable intelligence concerning their alleged online criminal activities,” a portion of the statement said.
In Enugu State, agents of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission’s Enugu Zonal Command have taken 23 alleged online scammers into custody.
This was revealed by the EFCC on Wednesday in a post on X.com.
“The suspects were arrested on May 10, 2024 in Igboeze, Nsukka, and Enugu metropolis following actionable intelligence concerning their alleged online criminal activities,” a portion of the statement said.
“Items recovered from them include; three cars, mobile phones, laptops, one Point Of Sale (POS) machine and several incriminating documents.
“They will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded.”
Similarly, PUNCH Online reported last Friday that EFCC operatives, in separate raids conducted in Cross River and Osun states, arrested a total of 108 suspected internet fraudsters.
