Although he has been under pressure to approve additional funding for the road project, Gov. Kefas clarified that he believed it would be prudent to evaluate the contractors’ performance before allocating further dollars.
Taraba State Governor Dr. Agbu Kefas has pledged that his administration will finish any infrastructure projects that were left undone.
He made these remarks on Friday while the 82-kilometer Mararraba-Baissa-Abong road project in the state’s Kurmi Local Government Area was being inspected.
Before his term as governor of Taraba State came to an end, Darius Ishaku, the previous governor, had started the contract.
Although he has been under pressure to approve additional funding for the road project, Gov. Kefas clarified that he believed it would be prudent to evaluate the contractors’ performance before allocating further dollars.
According to him, “I have been receiving pressure from the contractors to pay them, but we need to see the level of work done, and that is why we are here today.
“I want to reassure the people of the state that this administration is dedicated to completing projects initiated by previous administrations, especially those that are very important like this one.”
He expressed satisfaction with the quality of work done and assured residents of the area of its completion.
