- A new video unveiled a daring proposal to make Verydarkman INEC chairman for the next election if there is any hope for true transparency, with a stinging critique of how deeply corruption has poisoned the nation’s core.
- The idea sent shockwaves through the public, ignited a storm of mixed reactions.
- While many rallied behind the notion, embracing it as a glimmer of hope, skeptics remained, insisted that in a country like this, everyone has a price.
Social commentator Isaac Fayose has stirred the waters with a provocative suggestion to appoint social critic Vincent Martins Otse, popularly known as Verydarkman (VDM), as the chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).
Isaac, the brother of former Ekiti State governor Ayo Fayose, did not mince words, declared that no corrupt politician would taste re-election if VDM took the reins of INEC, portrayed him as a beacon of integrity in a nation drowning in deceit.
Fayose painted a grim picture of Nigeria’s institutions, described corruption as a rot that had seeped into every sector. He gave a chilling example with the case of Osun monarch Oba Joseph Oloyede, now languishing in a US prison over alleged fraud.
He also mentioned a pastor held in detention abroad, drove home his claim that no title or collar seemed immune to the nation’s creeping decay.
According to him, putting Verydarkman in charge of elections might just be the jolt needed to break the cycle of recycled mediocrity and usher in real leadership.
