- Sowore’s fearless defiance against security agencies in court was more than bold; it was a visceral display of raw courage that struck a nerve. Celebrities like Frederick Leonard felt it deeply.
- Leonard, captivated by Sowore’s audacity, saw a president in him for 2027. Yet, his revelation cut through the praise as he admitted he would not vote.
Nollywood actor and filmmaker Frederick Leonard has offered a raw and unfiltered take on the viral video of former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore confronting officials of the Nigeria Police Force and the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission at the Federal High Court.
In the clip, which was shared by celebrity blogger Tunde Ednut, Sowore boldly challenged the security agents for barring him from the court premises.
His voice rang with a stark observation, the Nigeria’s justice system, he claimed, had been hijacked by those in uniform, including the Department of State Security Services, police, and civil defence.
Sowore told the officers that he was not former Kogi State governor Yahaya Bello, who is facing an ongoing case with the commission over alleged financial misappropriation.
With cutting precision, he accused them of illegally occupying the court because they had brought a “thief,” Yahaya Bello, to answer for his deeds.

The scene was electric, and Tunde Ednut’s comment section became a chorus of reactions. Netizens and skeptics alike grappled with Sowore’s defiance, but for Frederick Leonard, the moment was more than just viral fodder, it was a call to something deeper.
Leonard did not hold back. He revealed that if only votes were truly counted and defended in Nigeria, he would stand behind Sowore as president in 2027.
However, he believes that a candidate as brave as Sowore may never taste victory in a nation where fear often drowns the will to defend the vote.
Frederick Leonard wrote;
“If only votes counted in Africa, Thisnis the Man i would have voted for in 2027. #Sowore But then. I’m too knowledgeable to waste my time standing under the sun in 2027. Nigerians are still too Scared and divided to defend their votes. So, MAKE WEY DEY dey like dis. we go dey alright las las.”
Leonard’s colleague, Jerry Amilo, others also shared their thoughts, added another layer to the conversation.
