The Governor also appointed Stanley Egege, Chairman of the Governing Board of Abia State Polytechnic, Aba, with Dr Okoro Christopher Kalu as Rector Rector; while Uchechukwu Job Iweha, Rose Mbara Nelson, and Mrs Lawrencia Onyemachi, are members.
Governor Alex Otti has approved the appointment of the immediate-past Chairman of the Nigeria Medical Association, NMA, Abia State, Dr Chimezie Okwuonu, as the Chief Medical Director, CMD, of the “newly-retrofitted” Abia Diagnostic Centre/Specialist Hospital, Umuahia.
The appointment was contained in a statement issued Monday evening by the Chief Press Secretary of the Governor, Mr Kazie Uko.
Other appointments by the Governor, according to the statement include: Dr Kalu U. Kalu; Executive Secretary, Primary Healthcare; Professor Ijeoma Nduka – CMD, Abia State University Teaching Hospital ABSUTH; and Dr N.O.E. Kamanu – CMD, General Hospital, Aba.
The Governor also appointed Dr Odochi Azubuike as the Chief Executive Officer, CEO, Health Management Board; Agbonma Ukaobasi , Senior Special Adviser, SSA, Ease of Doing Business; and Mrs. Victoria Onwubiko – MD/CEO, Abia State Signage and Advertising Agency, ABSSAA.
Others are Lydia E. Onuoha, Chairman, Abia State Universal Basic Education Board, ASUBEB; Dr Eno J. Eze, Chairman, Civil Service Commission; Engnr. Kachy Etolue – Special Adviser, Energy; Dr Ngozi Azodoh – Special Adviser, Health; and Mrs Nkolika Cleopatra Ubani – SSA, Legal.

In the same vein, Gov. Otti appointed Alwell Okey Agbara as Chairman, Abians In Diaspora Commission; with Leonard Ibeka; Rev. Annie Onwuchekwa , Engnr. Bob Ibeneme , and Prof. Ndubuisi Ekekwe , as members.
