As the Nigerian presidency continues to evade a person of Igbo extraction, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Kassim Afegbua has said people of the Eastern region “need to start preparing for another time”.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the former Commissioner for Information in Edo State said “when the opportunity is ripe”, an Igbo person will become president.
“They (Igbo people) want to be President of the country and this is the closest they’ve gone to achieving that (with Peter Obi), but someone must win. So, they need to start preparing for another time,” Daily Independent quotes Afegbua as saying.
He added: “They can only be pacified, when the opportunity is ripe for them to be president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. That time will surely come someday.”
