Nigeria’s President-elect, Bola Tinubu, has urged Nigerians to disregard critics who – in the last one month – have said that he was rushed overseas over his alleged health condition, adding that he is “very strong” to rule Nigeria come May 29. He said this on Monday while addressing Nigerians after returning to Nigeria via the Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport, Abuja where his private jet landed.
According to Punch, critics have shown concern about the health condition of the President-elect, claiming it might become a challenge to the incoming government. However, Tinubu said that he only travelled out of Nigeria on March 21 to rest.
He said: “I am happy to be back. I have rested, I’m refreshed and I am ready for the task ahead. Forget about what the rumour mill may have told you. I’m strong, very strong.”
