Halliru Gwanzo, the ward’s legal adviser, made the announcement of the suspension during a Monday press conference in Kano.
Gwanzo highlighted the Kano State Government’s accusations of bribery against Ganduje as justification for the suspension.
“We decided to suspend Dr. Ganduje from the party due to the seriousness of the allegations against him,” Gwanzo stated.
According to the ward APC leaders, the suspension is effective from Monday, 15 April, 2024 until the former governor of the state clears himself from the allegations.
The suspension, throws the leadership of the APC into question and could have wider implications for Nigerian politics in the lead-up to the 2027 elections.
The APC national chairman is yet to comment on the suspension.
