The Federal High Court in Abuja, under the leadership of Justice Inyang Edem Ekwo, on Tuesday halted the Peoples Democratic Party’s plan to suspend Rivers State’s outgoing governor, Nyesom Wike, over allegations of anti-party activities.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the ruling also prevents the party’s national leadership from revoking the membership of the governor-elect of Rivers State, Simi Fubara, for similar alleged offences against the party.
In two separate cases brought against the PDP, Justice Ekwo emphasised that any organization established by law must adhere to due process while handling legal issues.
The judge delivered this verdict, putting an end to the PDP’s attempts to discipline its members without following proper legal procedures.
