The Kano state governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf has approved the appointment of the second class emirs of Gaya, Karaye and Rano Emirates.
This was contained in a statement by Director General, Media and Publicity to the governor, Sanusi Bature Dawakin Tofa.
The newly appointed emirs are ; Alhaji Muhammad Maharaz Karaye as Emir of Karaye, who until his appointment was District Head of Rogo, Alhaji Muhammad Isa Umar as the emir of Rano.
Until his appointment, Umar was the district head of Bunkure.
The deposed emir of Gaya, Alhaji Aliyu Ibrahim Abdulkadir Gaya, was reinstated as emir of Gaya.
Unlike other deposed emirs,Abdulkadir accepted his fate and expressed willingness to work in any capacity after his deposition was announced.
The governor congratulated the newly appointed emirs and enjoined them to be the custodians of culture ,peace and unity of the people in their respective Emirates.
The statement said all the appointment were with immediate effect.
On Tuesday, the Kano governor signed the bill creating three second-class emirates in the state.
The bill was also passed by the Kano house of assembly.
