My candid advise for my fellow undergraduates is, your dating life has a lot to do with your academic performance, therefore balance it up with moderation to see good and befitting results.
Most youths/students in Nigerian Universities today, are engaged in romantic relationships, it isn’t a crime but it becomes a silly thing to do when it results in being a detriment to outstanding academic performance. In as much as dating can improve. Anything that takes up your time, and energy can determine how well you perform in school.
The impact your dating life brings on your academic performance, determines how well you are able to balance between your studies and social life. Moderation plays a very important role on undergraduates who are dating or engaged romantic relationships. In moderation, dating can even help to boost one’s academic life.
As an undergraduate who is dating, the greatest factor to embrace is moderation. Your partner should be able to understand when you can’t stay long on calls because you’re working on an assignment or studying. I advise all undergraduates to be on the look out for partners who are always in the look for your social life alone, not minding your educational life. A partner that always wants you to go to parties, clubbing, trips, parks with you, doesn’t worth it. As an undergraduate who’s dating, your relationship with your partner can help boost your academic life, by studying together, making sure to attend classes, working on assignments and projects.
How can dating affect ones academic performance?
Happiness is a key factor in a romantic relationship, but whereby happiness isn’t found, maybe due to quarrels, fights, physical and verbal abuses, there’s a high risk of flopping academically. It’s advisable for any undergraduate found in an unhappy romantic relationship to quit, so not to bask in the fear of academic death.
Also, having a partner who’s not serious academically, has a lot to do in the academic life of the partner. It affects the partner negatively, therefore leading to academic failure.
Learning how to balance dating life and academic life is very essential for Nigeria Undergraduates, who wants to succeed. Dating a like-minded partner is advisable, to boost understanding, self esteem, emotional and academical growth.
My candid advise for my fellow undergraduates is, your dating life has a lot to do with your academic performance, therefore balance it up with moderation to see good and befitting results.
