The running debate in the country right now of redesigned naira notes was petrifying if not pitiless going by the sluggish economy of the country. Especially to the individuals scathing the action has every right to do so. Banks no dey collect old notes from people and where, to where I ask do the CBN and it’s co related affiliates want the nations inhabitants to take the old notes still dey their hands since yesterday. Could this be real?
However, before the February 10 deadline, Kaduna, Kogi and Zamfara States take things legal and head to the Supreme Court, seeking that the CBN should be restrained from going ahead with the deadline. The Court give a temporary halt to the deadline and adjourned the case till February 15 that’s tomorrow. But CBN refused to listen and go on to declare that old notes no longer means of legal tendency which means rules and regulations break themselves by themselves here, what type of nation is this?
In my experienced, you know the boundless frustration it can cause when you experienced it, or — worst of all — when the whole nation is apoplectic and number citizen is not saying anything about connecting whatsoever that’s need to be connected to have smooth life; these small inconveniences can throw our days off balance and make us want to pull our hair out. Those with good acumen will tell you the disadvantages to this redesign notes right now uplift it’s advantages. But wait!! am not against this new notes, redesign, reprint, recolor or whatever the suffering the country will go through because due process was not observe during along the way to this change.
As days turned weeks, second by second post, tweets are inspired by issues of Naira scarcity, inviting many to take their frustration out on the keyboard — or even imagine a thing like this CBN says no capacity to print new notes, allow old notes them say no, what kind of play is this?
To my experience, people need to be involved in the decision that matter to them, there are many representatives we sent to Abuja in bid to seek for our respective interest. Some of which try to intervene, on this Naira crisis, But the CBN tend to be a lot more passionate on it’s mandate and FG is saying nothing which symbolize CBN has gotten handwritten thank you letter from FG , something that has never happened but looked like…
COVID-19, insecurity and corruption have hit us hard. We need quality and stable education, good infrastructure, quality healthcare and more decent jobs that will allow youths, and all Nigerians, to thrive. In the coming weeks, Nigerians will have the power to vote for the people they want to lead the country on a bid to make Naija better and stronger. Act and vote for the future. No more waiting.
