- The raging paternity dispute between the Alagwu and Ayeni families has taken a defining twist.
- In a bold and symbolic move, the Alagwu family stormed the home of their daughter’s estranged hubby, Tunde, to return her bride price, a gesture that traditionally marks the end of a marriage.
- The act sent shockwaves online, fueled speculation about the true paternity of the child at the center of the controversy.
The family of Abuja-based lawyer Adaobi Alagwu has made a bold statement by returning the dowry paid by billionaire businessman Tunde Ayeni, officially severing ties amid their explosive legal paternity battle.
In a dramatic turn of events, a delegation from Adaobi’s family, in viral video, was captured at Ayeni’s residence, where they met with him and his relatives for what appeared to be a peaceful resolution to the controversy.
The highlight of the encounter, the symbolic return of the bride price, sent a clear message that whatever once existed between Adaobi and Tunde is now irreversibly broken.
The representative of Adaobi family said:
“We are here to return her dowry and if we agree together, she will cease to have anything to do with Tunde.
“She will cease in communication and the other part of the family will go into withdrawal, so that everybody will love their normal life. As far as everybody is concerned Adaobi ceases to have anything to do with Tunde today.
“By the grace of God, we have resolved to move our lives forward.”

At the heart of this storm is a high-stakes DNA battle. Adaobi Alagwu insists she was romantically involved with Tunde Ayeni in 2019 and gave birth to his child in the U.S. in 2022.
But the billionaire flatly denied any connection to the child, rejected her claims as pure fabrication.
The saga took an even darker twist when Ayeni challenged the DNA results, called the certificate a sham. He claimed the entire process was manipulated, alleged that Adaobi and her allies infiltrated the email system of the testing laboratory to forge documents and frame him as the child’s father.
