A Nigerian religious figure based in Warri, Isaiah Ogedegbe, today on Easter Sunday has decried lack of agape love among many Christians in this part of the world. He said that Christ loved us and died for us over two thousand years ago, but today many Christians don’t love themselves.
According to him, “In early days of the Church, the Apostles really loved themselves and helped one another to grow; but today the reverse is the case. Today Christians who have money mock those who do not have. Those who wear good clothes to church snub those who don’t have any good clothes to wear. The pain of one is no longer the pain of all and life now seems to be per head.”
The young preacher also lamented that, “In the ministry today, some pastors who have wealth don’t associate with fellow pastors who are poor. There is unending rivalry, hatred and disunity in the Church today as there are now several factions in one Church.”
He called on Christians all over the world to emulate Christ by loving themselves genuinely.
