Nollywood actress cum filmmaker Funke Akindele has continued to shatter records with her latest movie release, ‘Everybody Loves Jenifa’.
The much talked about movie has raked in over one billion Naira within eight days since its release, both in Nigeria and abroad.
In diaspora, Everybody Loves Jenifa has grossed $194,560 and about N783m in Nigeria, totaling over N1 billion.
This milestone follows on the heels of her previous achievement after her movie emerged Nollywood’s highest grossing film. It has now become the ‘1st Nollywood Release To Gross Over $190,000 IN 8 Days Outside Africa’.
Taking to Instagram to celebrate the latest milestone of her groundbreaking movie, Funke Akindele expressed heartfelt gratitude to fans, the cast, and colleagues for their unwavering support.
Expressing gratitude, she affectionately described them as the ‘true superstars. Her post reads:
$194,560 and counting in just 8 days, Who else but God? 🙌 Huge thanks to my tireless cast, fabulous colleagues, and unstoppable Jenifans, YOU are the true superstars.
To fans in her home country, the filmmaker wrote:

At this point, while it is definitely worth celebrating, it is not entirely shocking that Funke Akindele reigns supreme at the box office. Three times now, the mother of two reigned as queen over the box office.
Her movies, A Tribe Called Judah, Everybody Loves Jenifa, Battle On Buka Street, and Omo Ghetto The Saga sit respectively on the first to fourth on the table.
