Donald Trump has taken the oath of office as the 47th President of the United States of America, declaring that it is imperative to overhaul the nation’s trade system to protect the people of the country.
He also noted that the decline of the nation over the years has come to an end, declaring that he was specially spared by God to “Make America Great Again” (MAGA).
He was sworn in at the Capitol today by Chief Justice John Roberts, while his Vice President, JD Vance, was sworn in by Justice Brett Kavanaugh.
Trump, who criticized his successor and predecessor, Joe Biden, in his inauguration speech, said, “America’s decline is over,” assuring that “the Golden Age of America begins right now.”
He stressed the priorities of his administration on national security, trade, and immigration, asserting his resolve to “immediately begin the overhaul of our trade system to protect American workers and families.”
“We will tariff and tax foreign countries to enrich our citizens. For this purpose, we are establishing the External Revenue Service to collect all tariffs, duties, and revenues,” adding that this will bring in “massive amounts of money” to the country’s treasury “coming from foreign sources.”
While recounting the assassination attempts on his life last year, he claimed that he was “saved by God to Make America Great Again.” He also commiserated with the victims of the Los Angeles fire disaster, assuring that such incidents would not happen again.
Meanwhile, it is worthy of note that President Trump begins his second administration and political comeback once again with a unified government, with the Republican Party securing control of the Senate, House of Representatives, and White House.
Listing a number of executive orders he planned to sign to start implementing his administration’s agenda during his inaugural address, he said: “Today, I will sign a series of historic executive orders.
“With these actions, we will begin the complete restoration of America and the revolution of common sense. It’s all about common sense.”
Trump unequivocally declared his resolve to declare a national emergency at the US southern border, saying, “After years and years of illegal and unconstitutional federal efforts to restrict free expression, I will also sign an executive order to immediately stop all government censorship and bring back free speech to America.
“Never again will the immense power of the state be weaponized to persecute political opponents — something I know something about,” he said.
