- Successful Nigerian singer, Kcee, has taken a dig at his former artiste, Harrysong, for claiming he wrote most of his (Kcee) hits when he was under the Five Star Music record label.
- Harrysong had also accused Kcee and E-Money of seizing royalties of most of his hit tracks produced under their label.
- Kcee refuted Harrysong’s claims on the Afrobeats podcast, recounting their history.
Notable singer and music boss, Kingsley Okonkwo, famously known as Kcee, has strongly slammed his ex-signee, Harrysong, for alleging that he wrote most of his (Kcee) hit tracks during his time at the label.
Harrysong has persistently accused Kcee and his brother, E-Money, of infringing upon his musical rights and subsequently claimed that he wrote the majority of Kcee’s chart-toppers.
In the recent episode of the Afrobeats podcast, Kcee countered Harrysong’s claims by reminding people of their history.
He recalled that during the time he emerged winner in the Star Quest talent show with his former partner, Presh, and secured a deal with Kennis Music, Harrysong was still residing in his village with his grandmother.
Kcee highlighted their (he and Presh) joint effort under Kennis Music, releasing three albums, questioning whether Harrysong could claim credit for those works.
Emphasizing the substantial time gap since Harrysong’s departure from Five Star Music, Kcee stressed that he has continued to achieve success independently.
Taking a swipe at Harrysong, Kcee noted that he has a problem, citing the fact that he’s at loggerheads with his wife and former manager, Soso Soberekon. He further called for prayers on Harrysong’s behalf.
In his words:
“When I won Star Quest, Harrysong was in the village with his grandmother. I did three albums with Kennis Music, did Harrysong write those? Harrysong has a problem, we need to pray for him. Jokes apart, we need to pray for him.”
