- The movie director recounted the baffling incident with Segun Arinze laughing hard at his side.
Swedish-Nigerian movie director and dancehall artiste Dare Fasasi, also known as Baba Dee has recounted a robbery incident that left him bewildered.
The director made a video, detailing how he and veteran actor Segun Arinze were on Benin-Ore expressway and discovered a robbery incident was taking place.
He said he parked the car but shockingly, when the robbers spotted the actor, they immediately recognized him.
Dare Fasasi said the robbers began to hail Segun Arinze, repeatedly calling him by his onscreen nickname “Black Arrow”.
Born Segun Padonou Aina, Segun Arinze starred in the 1996 classic movie Silent Night as Black Arrow which was directed by Chico Ejiro.
While Fasasi recounted the incident, Segun Arinze who was beside him burst into laughter saying “you are crazy mehn.” In the movie director’s words:
“Yo guys I kid you not real life story I was in Ore, somewhere in Ore, Benin and I was riding with one actor and then we got there, there was a robbery and then we had to pack the vehicle.
You know we were actually going for a wedding, so we packed the vehicle somehow I just noticed everyone was… all the armed robbers they were coming to hail the actor “Black Arrow” “Black Arrow”.
This [shows actor Segun Arinze] is the only actor with street credibility amongst armed robbers, I swear God. I swear God.”
