Prominent media personality and former on-air personality, Toolz Oniru, has expressed her disappointment over the deportation controversy surrounding Pastor Tobi Adegboyega, founder of SPAC Nation.
The UK-based clergyman, known for his flashy lifestyle, recently reportedly lost a legal battle against deportation to Nigeria.
This followed allegations of financial misconduct, with reports indicating that Tobi Adegboyega misused £1.87 million in church funds.
An immigration tribunal ruled against him, citing his unlawful stay in the UK since overstaying his visitor’s visa in 2005. In 2019, he applied for leave to remain based on the ECHR’s right to family life. His application was first denied by a first-tier immigration tribunal, but he appealed.
Reacting to the news, Toolz took to social media to criticize Tobi Adegboyega’s actions and its impact on his family’s reputation, particularly that of his nephew, Hollywood actor John Boyega.
Toolz stated she would not refer to Adegboyega as a pastor, describing his actions as tarnishing. She wrote:
“John Boyega never claimed this fellow (I refuse to say Pastor) and see how his name has been dragged into this mess. Poor guy.”
