The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, has distributed sensitive materials to the affected areas ahead of the February 3, 2024 rerun election in Nnewi North and Orumba North local government areas in Anambra State.
The distribution exercise, which was supervised by the state Resident Electoral Commissioner, REC, Dr Queen Agwu, took place at the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN , Awka, on Friday.
Agwu said the sensitive materials, including result sheets of all types and ballot papers, were received and distributed for onward movement to the two council areas, while the Bimodal Voter Authentication System, BVAS, machines and other items have been handed over to the electoral officers.

She said that there will be no movement in areas where the election will hold from 8.30am when voting will start and 2.30 pm when voting will end, assuring that every person on queue will vote before they close.
She warned politicians not to act funny in any way as enough security personnel have been deployed to provide safety at all the poling units and all the areas where the election will hold and urged the electorate to come out without fear of molestation to vote.
