The Taraba State Chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has taken disciplinary action against Senator-elect David Jimkuta for alleged gross anti-party activities.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that Jimkuta has been expelled from the party by the Takum Local Government division of the party. This is according to a letter signed by the party’s council chairman, Hon. Sirajo Sallau, and dated April 7th, 2023.
The expulsion followed an investigation by the disciplinary committee, which considered the allegations leveled against the senator-elect. In light of these findings, the party felt that expulsion was the appropriate course of action.
The letter partly reads: “The Takum local government executive committee of our party, after due deliberation of the report of the disciplinary committee set up to investigate allegations of gross anti-party activities against Hon. Jimkuta S.U David as provided under article 21(B) (i) -(vI) of the All Progressives Congress, as recommended by the disciplinary committee. The anti-party activities forming the bases of this action include:
(l) “Sponsorship and openly campaigning for a rival political party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Taraba state and its governorship candidate.
(ll) Open express and tacit denunciation of the All Progressives Congress and its governorship candidate.
(lll) Open canvassing of votes for the People’s Democratic Party and its governorship candidate.”
