Veteran Nollywood actor Anayo Modestus Onyekwere popularly known as Kanayo O Kanayo has mourned his dear friend and colleague, Amaechi Muonagor who succumbed to death over the weekend.
On Instagram, Kanayo O Kanayo who confirmed the death of Amaechi, shared a photo of the deceased accompanied by a caption reminiscing their moments together.
The veteran actor recalled how he constantly expressed fear whenever Amaechi Muonagor engaged in any acrobatic summersault which he did exceptionally well despite his age and stature.
Kanayo O Kanayo mentioned how he brought liveliness on set and did his best to preserve their cultural values. He also urged his friend to rest well because God knows why he was called at such a time.
Kanayo O Kanayo wrote:
“Iyi, I was always afraid whenever you did your acrobatic somersault. It was indeed outstanding despite your weight. You would always say. Nwokem, o taa, meaning, you grew up doing it.
On set, there was no dull moment as you did your best to preserve our Igbo culture. God knows why he called you now. Good night dear brother. RIP”
Hours ago, WITHIN NIGERIA reported that Amaechi Muonagor died despite all efforts to save him.
The veteran’s death was announced on the X app by one Morris Money who noted that the actor died despite flying him to India for treatment.
Nigerian actor, Kingsley Orji also confirmed Amaechi Muonagor’s death to some news outlets.
Just last year, Amaechi Muonagor was reported to be battling paralysis from stroke. A video that found it’s way online captured when he pleaded on his sick bed for financial support.
Reports from the previous week stated that the actor’s health had degenerated, and was in dire need of financial support to undergo a kidney transplant in India. In a video posted online, the actor pleaded for help from Nigerians to save his life.
