Dayo Onibiyo, the Peoples Democratic Party’s (PDP) director for media and communications in Kogi State, has resigned from his position with the organization.
Onibiyo submitted his letter of resignation to the State Chairman, Engr. Sam Ohotu, on April 17th. A copy of the resignation letter was shared on Monday.
According to information obtained, Senator Dino Melaye’s selection as the party’s nominee for the November 11 governorship election in Kogi State and the just ended primaries had some bearing on his decision to leave the party.
The letter reads in part: “I write to appreciate those who counted me worthy to serve in this office, dated back to June 2021, when it has become clear that the party had lost both it’s voice and image under a sitting P.R.O of the party, whose life was threatened by the ruling class as reported.
“I also thank the party for the way it has treated me for the selfless services I have rendered by
sacrificing me on the alter of delegate because of the fear, that I would not do an agenda they have found personal to themselves.
“God bess everyone as one day soon, not too long, we will meet on the field.Pease direct as appropriate, who I should handover to, particularly, the outlets I managed or better still direct it crashed”.
