Niger Delta activist and a top campaigner of Bola Tinubu, Asari Dokubo, has said last Saturday’s presidential election in Lagos State where Peter Obi of the Labour Party defeated the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate, was “rigged”.
POLITICS NIGERIA recalls that according to the results declared by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Obi polled 582,664 while Bola Tinubu, the APC candidate and former governor of Lagos, scored 541,850 in the February 25 election.
“The military flooded Lagos. The houses of known supporters of Ahmed Bola Tinubu became military garrisons. There were people who were ready to make him (Tinubu) fail.
“They went to Lagos, rigged election. We promised that we are going to disgrace them in the election, and God disgraced them,” Dokubo said in a Facebook Live on Thursday.
Dokubo also alleged that the petrol scarcity experienced before the election and the present Naira crunch are “contrived”.
