Nigeria’s representative for the Miss Universe 2024 pageant Chidimma Adetshina has touched down in Mexico where she will compete for the coveted crown.
In a collaboration video shared on Instagram on Tuesday evening, Miss Universe Nigeria was seen making her arrival in Mexico, receiving a warm welcome as she prepares for the prestigious event.
Chidimma looked radiant, dressed in a stunning outfit crafted by Nigerian designer Maryam Elisha, adorned in colours inspired by the Nigerian flag, symbolising her national pride.
The post, captioned with a warm welcome in Spanish, read:
“Hola, México! Tu reina está aquí! From Nigeria, we send our brightest wishes and unwavering support with you, Chidinma!”
The message continued:
“May the vibrant spirit of our nation shine through you as you step onto this international stage. Represent us with pride, strength, and grace—knowing that all of Nigeria stands beside you. Bring home the crown!”
The 73rd Miss Universe pageant will be held at the Arena CDMX in Mexico City on November 16, 2024.
The reigning Miss Universe, Sheynnis Palacios of Nicaragua, will crown her successor at the event’s conclusion.
In September, Chidimma Adetshina responded to criticism trailing her Miss Universe Nigeria win.
There have been suggestions that the model won the pageant by pity votes from voters.
Reacting, the newly-crowned Miss Universe Nigeria, Chidimma Adetshina stated that she didn’t get a pity win.
Speaking in an interview on Arise News she clarified that she won through her hard work and resilience.
