- At a recent high-profile Glo event, Okele, who was present in his official capacity as a brand ambassador, found himself in an unexpectedly humiliating situation.
- In a viral video, Okele was seen on the red carpet, only to be abruptly intercepted and unceremoniously removed by a bouncer, who was seemingly unaware of his celebrity status.
- The incident, which played out in full view of onlookers, quickly sparked outrage online, with many condemning the bouncer’s actions as outright disrespectful.
A Nigerian security personnel named Chixon has recently stirred up a storm on social media after sharing an unforgettable encounter with renowned comic actor, Tunde Usman, better known as Okele, at a high-profile event organized by the multinational telecommunications giant, Globacom.
The event, held on Monday in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State, was part of Glo’s ongoing “Festival of Joy” loyalty reward promo, where lucky customers were treated to extravagant prizes, including cars.
The glamorous occasion was graced by Okele and some of the biggest stars in Nigerian entertainment, including fellow Glo brand ambassadors such as comedian Seyi Law, Nollywood giants Odunlade Adekola, Bimbo Thomas, Toyin Abraham Ajeyemi, and the ever-popular content creator Kiekie.
However, while the event featured an array of celebrities and dazzling moments, one particular incident quickly became the talk of the town – an awkward and somewhat embarrassing encounter between Okele and security personnel that left many questioning the professionalism of those in charge of event management.
The drama began when Okele, in his usual jovial spirit, unknowingly walked onto the red carpet designated for the winners of the Glo promo. As he made his way to the space, a visibly confused bouncer, Chixon, stopped him and asked if he was one of the prize winners.
With a smile, Okele politely informed the security guard that he was not a winner, and introduced himself as a celebrity. However, Chixon appeared oblivious to who Okele was, and with an air of indifference, firmly instructed him to leave the red carpet, which was meant only for the winners to be interviewed.
This exchange, caught on video, quickly went viral after Chixon shared it on his TikTok page, where he laughed off the incident and admitted that, after some enquiries, he came to realize who Okele was.
The bouncer wrote;
“Sweat don cover my eyes. though I been no know am. him come dey with winners wey I dey interview. Na when I ask am wetin him win, him come clear me say him be celeb.
“Na now I ask people about am, them let me know say na super star Yoruba actor. the video come dev hilarius o”
