Nigeria, a nation of vibrant culture and resilient people, have out since Thursday demanding a better governance. The ongoing demonstration, have brought together individuals from all walks of life, united in their quest for a chance to have affordable food, electricity, and a better future.
The protests, sparked by a combination of factors including economic hardship, and government inaction, have spread like wildfire across the country. From the bustling streets of Lagos to united people of plateau state to the capital city of Abuja, Nigerians are standing up, demanding to be heard.
“We’re tired of living in poverty, tired of being silenced,” says Tunde, a 27-year-old protester. “We want a Nigeria where everyone has access to basic needs like food, shelter, and healthcare.”
The protesters’ demands are varied, but their message is clear: they want a government that serves the people, not just the elite. They want an end to corruption, a fair distribution of resources, and protection from insecurity
As the protests continues, yet again the perpetrator of evil will not back down to allow for a peaceful protest as there has reports of loss of lives in states like Borno, Jigawa, Kano, Kaduna and other great states of the country. Destruction of public facilities and looting of supermarket and shops were also included. States like Jos and Kaduna were place on 24 hours curfew.
