Expressing their delight over the visit, the students vowed to vote for the APC gubernatorial flag bearer, who is equally a former student unionist, and all other candidates of the party.
A group of supporters of the governorship standard-bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Cross River State, Senator (Prince) Bassey Otu, has visited some institutions of higher learning within the state, in continuation of their political campaigns to solicit for the votes of the students for all the candidates of the party.
According to Prince Otu Media, “The group made up of prominent former Student Union Government (SUG) leaders met with the leadership and students from all higher institutions at their campuses, including the University of Calabar, University of Cross River, School of Health Technology among others to intimate them on the need to support the gubernatorial candidate Sen. Prince Bassey Otu, senatorial candidate, Hon. Asuquo Ekpenyong as well as all other APC candidates in the state, promising better days if the party’s candidates are elected.”
Leader of the group, Barr. Ekpenyong Akiba, assured the students of a better and conducive learning environment, scholarship awards both local and international if they vote for Prince Otu.
“I stand here to speak to you as a great beneficiary of Sen. Prince Otu’s genuine love and care for the people and everyone that gets close to him. Today, I am a lawyer, courtesy of him. Because he sponsored me to go back to school and study law. Because of his love for students, he facilitated the building of the only administrative block in CRUTECH, built several schools, awarded scholarships to both local and international students, paid bursaries etc. That is the same thing he has done for so many of us standing here with me. They can all testify. That is why you must vote for Prince Otu, Hon. Asuquo Ekpenyong and other APC candidates contesting for one position or the other,” Barr. Akiba pleaded with the students.
Expressing their delight over the visit, the students vowed to vote for the APC gubernatorial flag bearer, who is equally a former student unionist, and all other candidates of the party.
The group planned to take the campaign to all institutions of higher learning across the entire state as Nigerians get set for the 2023 polls, which will commence in a few days precisely on February 25 with the Presidential and National Assembly elections, while the gubernatorial and state assembly polls will be held on March 11.
