President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed why he did not endorse any candidate during the presidential primaries of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the president made the revelation while speaking at the 2023 Annual Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial lecture in Lafia.
President Buhari revealed that his decision was based on his past experience of failing to become the country’s leader three times until the fourth attempt through a democratic process.
Buhari, who was represented at the event by his Chief of Staff, Ibrahim Gambari, urged Nigerians to accept the outcome of the 2023 election. He also appealed to disgruntled candidates to seek redress in court.
The President emphasised Ahmadu Bello’s commitment to the unity, peace, and progress of Nigeria, stating that the late leader stood for these values until his death.
He implored Nigerians to embrace Bello’s selfless service and the legacies he left behind.
