Isaiah Ogedegbe, a Nigerian religious figure and blogger based in Warri, has exposed some Nigerian opportunists claiming to be prophets.
He said, “This crop of fake prophets are known by their fruits: Some of them will deliver their prophecies only on Facebook or Twitter; if it happens, they will make reference to it; if it doesn’t happen, they will secretly delete it and never make mention of it again. That way, they are safe. They will never go to the mainstream media or the well respected newspapers to voice their prophecies because if they do, they will get caught easily and may not be able to secretly delete their prophecies as they often do on Facebook or Twitter”.
He added, “Worse still, you may never find any of their prophecies even on social media, but they will still come out to tell the public that they saw it before it happened. It is now a common occurrence that whenever a famous person dies or the child of a famous person dies, they will start competing for the position of who said it first.”
