ASAP Rocky, the 36-year-old partner of singer Rihanna, has been found not guilty on all counts in his felony trial in Los Angeles.
The trial, which lasted three weeks, centered around the shooting of ASAP Rocky’s former friend, ASAP Relli, in Los Angeles, California, in November 2021.
ASAP Rocky had been charged with two felony counts of assault with a semiautomatic firearm and faced up to 24 years in jail if convicted.
However, after deliberating for just one day, the jury composed of seven women and five men returned a verdict of not guilty.
The trial was marked by dramatic moments, including Rihanna’s emotional reaction to the verdict.
She broke into tears as the verdict was read and was seen hugging ASAP Rocky, who expressed his gratitude to the jury, saying “Thanks y’all for saving my life.”
Rihanna also took to her Instagram Stories to express her relief, she wrote, “The Glory Belongs To God And God Alone!, Thankful, Humbled By His Mercy!”
