Sen. Pius Anyim’s conversion to the All Progressives Congress (APC) has been hailed as “a huge blessing” by Dr. Abdullahi Ganduje, the party’s national chairman.
Ganduje’s Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Edwin Olofu, encapsulated his excitement in a statement.
According to Ganduje, the APC would benefit from Anyim’s depth of experience, according to the statement released on Sunday in Abuja.
At a ceremony in the Ebonyi capital of Abakaliki, Ganduje welcomed Anyim, who had defected from the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), into the All Progressives Congress (APC). This information is reported by the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN).
“I’m elated to receive such an important personality into our party.
“I want to assure you, on behalf of President Bola Tinubu, that you are welcome to the largest political party in Africa.
“Be assured that we will give you equal opportunity like old members of our party so that you can come to the table with your huge experience and followership,” Ganduje had said.
The APC leader said that the South-East geo-political region could not continue to be in the opposition, urging the region to join mainstream politics.(NAN)
