Former Kano State governor, Senator Ibrahim Shekarau, has urged the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to capitalize on Nigeria’s youth population to secure victory in the 2027 general elections.
Speaking at the unveiling of the Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Northern Forum of Zonal and State Youth Leaders of PDP in Abuja, Shekarau emphasized that engaging the youth is key to the party’s success.
He called young Nigerians to rally behind the PDP, describing it as the “credible alternative” to tackle the nation’s challenges.
Shekarau highlighted the achievements of the PDP during its 16 years in power, stating that it delivered democratic dividends and improved citizens’ lives.
He urged Nigerians to give the party another chance in 2027 to restore the country’s fortunes.
Aruwa Ismailab, Chairman of the Northern Forum of Zonal and State Youth Leaders of PDP, also stressed the importance of using social media platforms to rebuild trust and create awareness among Nigerians about the party’s vision and goals.
The event was attended by key PDP leaders, including Hon. Enemona Anyebe, Kogi State Chairman of PDP; Dr. Joel E.B. Adagadzu, North Central Zonal Organizing Secretary; and Dr. Yunana Iliya, National Ex-Officio, among others.
