- A woman once stood before Ebuka Obi’s congregation, passionately testified to God’s glory for an acquisition of a 500 million naira mansion, credited the cleric’s prayers for her newfound wealth.
- But fate had other plans as she was soon exposed in a situation that starkly contradicted her lavish claims.
- The revelation sparked a firestorm of accusations, with many suggesting that Ebuka Obi might have orchestrated the entire testimony.

In response to the unfolding scandal, Ebuka Obi took to social media to vehemently refute any connection with the woman, accused her of lying against God and his ministry.
The cleric clarified that he has no personal ties to her, asserted that she, like many others, simply came to the church to share a fabricated story.
In his words: “I said it last month that my name would be all over the media. I said the media would be shaking, making it look real, but it’s all fake.”
“I heard from clergymen in the East that bloggers were sponsored. Now, do I know her? Does any member know her? She came to testify, just like hundreds of others who come here daily. If the house she claimed to own is fake, then it is her who lied before God and His altar — not the ministry.”
