These are quite encouraging. And for paucity of space, it is only the report of these two groups that will be covered here. I may review others later if there is need. The refrain is still: Release and reinstate Abba Kyari now!
As I was concluding my last part of these series last week, some groups were holding solidarity match and issuing communiqué demanding the release and reinstatement of DCP. Abba Kyari. It is a development that has strengthened my resolve to continue to agitate for the release of our super cop. It is imperative that I review the statement of the groups that are advocating for Abba Kyari’s reinstatement too.
First is the group known as the Leadwell African Global Initiative who in collaboration with the Nigerian Council of Bishops and Imams in Abuja on Thursday the 7th day of March, 2024 held a peaceful prayer rally for the nation, for our national security and for the Super cop, Abba Kyari. The group called on the President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the National Assembly, the Judiciary to reinstate Abba Kyari and his team in the war against kidnapping, armed robbery, terrorism and banditry that are ravaging the country at present. The leader of the coalition who is also the President of the Nigerian Clerics Council of Bishops and Imams declares thusly, “Our gathering here are driven by the spirits of oneness and as concerned citizens of our dear nation, Nigeria to share the pain we suffered from the country that is being covered with the cloud of darkness and stained with the blood of some of her innocent citizens, whose souls are either restless in the sky or in the hands of kidnappers, bandits, armed robbers and terrorists, who have turned our day to perilous and fearful night, where evils prevail.”
The coalition declares empathically that they feel the pains of insecurity ravaging the country and the concomitant blood-letting and loss of lives in the hands of the dare-devil bandits, terrorist and kidnappers; the pains of economic hardship and ever rising cost of living suffocating the lives of the ordinary Nigerians, the pains of disappointment from those who took advantage of the situation to exploit others, the pains of corruption, embezzlement of public funds, nepotism, favoritism and mediocrity that has become the order of the day. They also stated that they feel the pains of lack of confidence in the nation’s judiciary, lack of trust in our elected representatives, lack of confidence in the electoral system and the pains of innocent Nigerians, whose souls are being kept at Nigerian Correctional center without being tried at court of competent jurisdiction for the alleged crimes and the pains of Nigerians who are calling for immediate release of Abba Kyari and his team, whom they believed will liberate them from the fear of insecurities in the country.
And in the light of the aforementioned pains the group had gathered to pray for the nation and for the immediate release and restoration of DCP. Abba Kyari to his duty. “It is upon these pains in the hearts of Nigerians that have prompted our gathering here today as concerned citizens of Nigeria to pray to God Almighty to intervene in the ugly situations which we have found ourselves as a nation.”
“It is upon these pains that we are here to pray to President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, members of the national assembly, the judiciary and all the security agencies to wake up to their mandates and rescue Nigerians from the pains in their hearts.
“Most urgently, is the pain arising from the insecurities in the country, which is very alarming, and this is where as concerned citizens of our dear nation, we pray to God Almighty and to the leadership of Nigeria to bring Abba Kyari and his team back into the Nigerian Security Architecture. We know how the doggedness of Abba Kyari and his team brought down high-profile criminals, terrorist, assassins and kidnappers when there were with us in the society. We pray for the presence of tested and trusted hands of Abba Kyari and his team in Nigeria Security Architecture. We pray for good governance and good leadership in Nigeria.”
In another development, another group known as Secure Nigeria Now (SNN) issued seven-point communiqué demanding among other things the immediate release and reinstatement of DCP. Abba Kyari. The text of the communiqué signed by the Chairman, the secretary and the Public Relation Officer of the group read thus:
“We the undersigned and members of the above-named group and concerned citizens of Nigeria on behalf ourselves and members of the group, having reviewed the state of the nation do hereby use this medium to state as follows:
These are quite encouraging. And for paucity of space, it is only the report of these two groups that will be covered here. I may review others later if there is need. The refrain is still: Release and reinstate Abba Kyari now!
