The Oyo State Amotekun operatives are not due for dismissal; because the Oyo State Amotekun Board of Governance and the management team have not set up any mechanism to check the operatives.
The Board of Governance and the management team of the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps has concluded in the Board meeting held on the 12th April, 2023 at the Corps headquarters an unprofessional plan to dismiss about fifty (50) of Oyo State Amotekun operatives, especially those that can read and write (those who holds Phd, M.sc, B.sc, HND, NCE and OND, SSCE) who have been considered by the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun corps Board of Governance and the management team as a threat and disturbance elements to the management. The Board of Governance and the management of the Oyo State Security Network and Amotekun Corps feel that the educated among the Oyo State Amotekun operatives are exposing their heinous acts of misappropriating the Amotekun funds disbursed to the Agency by the Oyo State Government, abuse of office, conversion of government properties, embezzlement and the unprofessional administration of the Agency.
As matter of importance, the stake holders in the Oyo State Governance should help these operatives that are about to dismiss, because, the faults of the Oyo State Amotekun Board of Governance and the management team is the failure of the Oyo State Amotekun operatives. Any fault founds in any of the Oyo State Amotekun operatives, emanated from the failure of the faulty administration of the Oyo State Amotekun Board of Governance and the management team. The Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun corps is being inflicted with foundational and administrative failure.
The first foundational administrative failure of the Oyo State Amotekun Board of governance and management team is their failure to administer the Agency professionally through a functional code of conduct and operational Manual. These documents are indispensable to the success of any successful administrator, as these two documents proof their importance to the employee so also to the employer. It is over two years now the Oyo State Amotekun Board of governance are just sitting and busy discussing nothing on regulations that can bring about effective administration into the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps. The Oyo State Amotekun Board of Governance, for over two years of its inauguration, has woefully failed in its constitutional duty of making regulation for the Agency as contain in Section 39 of the Oyo State Security Network Agency Law 2020. Also, the Oyo State Amotekun Board of Governance failed in exercising all its constitutional powers as recommended in Section 8 (a-k) of the Oyo State Security Network Agency Law 2020.
The seconded civil servants in the Agency see nothing significant in their secondment to introduce and apply the regulations operating in the civil service commission as contain in section 39 (3) of the Oyo State Security Network Agency Law 2020 to ease the administrative bottle neck of the Agency. Mr Tijani Adelani, Mrs Adigun Yetunde, Pastor Adedeji Olusoji, Mrs Ayoola, you are seconded to the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun corps to guide and establish a good administration process that shall be in standard with the regulation of the Oyo State Civil Service Commission that approved your secondment, if those you met at cadre you are fail to leave, would you be there today? Honestly, had it been the seconded civil servants have done needful in the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun, it is the Amotekun operatives that are supposed to be in the offices that the seconded civil servants are occupying. This fact is one of the reasons hold against the Amotekun operatives dismissed.
The administrators of the Oyo State Security Network Agency and the Oyo State Amotekun Commandant Colonel Olayinka Olayanju who are supposed to have been dismissed from the office are now dismissing the Amotekun operative. What an ironical situation? Colonel Olayinka, have you forgotten that you forcefully administered traditional oath taken on all Oyo State Amotekun operatives, except the Amotekun operatives from Saki zone, you have violated section 15 (4 a,b,c) of the Oyo State Security Network Agency Law 2020. The Oyo State Amotekun Commandant, Colonel (rtd) Olayanju Olayinka, on several occasions, conducted himself to many dignitaries in a ways that is in line with section 15 (b) of the Oyo State Security Network Agency Law 2020, which has sent away many people who want to contribute positively to the development of the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps. Above all, Colonel Olayinka Olayanju, let me remind you of your insubordination attitude to the Amotekun Board Chairman at several Board meetings, especially in a meeting held in August 2022 after the administration of your forceful traditional oath, when you were shouting and using foul language on General (rtd) Kunle Togun, who was even your boss while you were in military and even old enough to be your father, you even walked in great annoyance of your nature, out of the Oyo State Amotekun’s Board of Governance meetings each time progressive matters are raised for discussion. Remember, you nearly beat up the Amotekun Board Chairman in a meeting where the board chairman General (rtd) Kunle Togun was of the opinion that the Amotekun Board and management team should investigate why some elites among the Oyo State Amotekun operatives are resigning, but Colonel Olayinka Olayanju, the Board secretary Barr Akinbode Iyabode Enitan and majority of board members present at the meeting turned down the suggestion, and some members of the board kept mute, when you eventually left the meeting in rage under a pretence of receiving fake call from his Excellency; Engineer Seyi Makinde, the kabiesi among the board member was blaming “baba Togun” not to have open up some of the issues discussed while the board secretary / legal adviser, being a female was shivering and sweating profoundly on her seat. The Oyo State Amotekun Board chairman could not hold his tears over the perpetual disgraceful and disrespectful habit of yours (violation of section 15 (4b) of the Oyo State Security Network Agency Law 2020 , which had long ago qualified you to have been removed as the Oyo State Amotekun Corps Commandant, and this could have prevented you and the Board sectary/legal adviser from forcefully vetoing the approval of dismissal of about fifty (50) Oyo State Amotekun operatives at the Board meeting of the 12th of April, 2023.
More so, for over two years of entrusting the Oyo State government Security funds to your care, have you ever accounted for how the fund is being spent to the office of the Oyo State Auditor general as provided by section 33 of the Oyo State Security Network Agency Law 2020, the office dare not ask you any accountability. Or are you not suppose to give the account of over 33 million naira that has being paying to you on monthly basis by the 33 Local Government councils of Oyo State and other illicit activities you and your management team are committing? Can you denied the monthly subscription of each Local Government Amotekun’s coordinator both in cash and kind for the coordinators to be in the post/office. Colonel (rtd) Olayaju Olayinka, have you forgotten that you and your 2ic Akinro, had a very good share from the Cows’ deal carried out by Amotekun’s operatives in Oyo town, you and Akinro even blamed the perpetrators for not have killed the cows’ owner. You have done your best to let the perpetrators escaped; nemesis shall catch up with you, is just matter of time.
The agenda of your constant meetings with the Oyo State Amotekun Local Government coordinators and admin officers is full of threat to remove and dismiss any of them, if they fail to play along. You even instructed the coordinators to use ‘juju’ to kill anybody advocating for structure through the use of certificate/academic qualifications in the Oyo State Amotekun.
Above all, Colonel Olayinka Olayanju and the Oyo State Amotekun Board of governance along with seconded civil servants are long due for replacement because most of them cannot uphold the academic qualifications that quality them to be in the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun corps service, as contained in sections 15 (1 and 2a), not to talk of implementing the academic qualifications in the Oyo State Network Agency and Amotekun Corps. Was “juju” considered for the appointment of Colonel Olayinka Olayanju? Was it used to appoint the Board Secretary/Legal adviser Barr Akinbode Iyabode Enitan. Was the “juju” considered for Mr Tijani Adelani; Director of Admin and Supply, Mrs Adigun Yetunde; the Director of Finance and Account, Pastor Adedeji Olusoji; the Director of Planning and Strategic, Mrs Ayoola; Media to the Amotekun Board of Governance, who are seconded from the Civil Service Commission to set professional administration in the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps affairs?
With the above limited facts and many others, it is the Oyo State Amotekun Commandant that is due for dismissal and the Oyo State Amotekun Board of Governance are to re-constitute, while the seconded civil servant be sent back to their ministries, so as to allow better Oyo State Board of Governance and better Corps Commandant who shall administer the Agency in a professional manner to come into the Oyo State Security Network and Amotekun Corps. The Oyo State Amotekun operatives are not due for dismissal; because the Oyo State Amotekun Board of Governance and the management team have not set up any mechanism to check the operatives.
I beseech the Oyo State Government and other concerned stake holders that are genuinely interested in the progress of Oyo State to kindly look into the matter of the unlawful dismissed Amotekun operative under the Agency that has no code of conduct to consult, by reinstate those Educated Amotekun operatives that was intentionally and unjustifiably dismissed by the Oyo State Amotekun Board of Governance. And the State Government should up-hold the decision of the Oyo State Amotekun Board of Governance of the Oyo State Amotekun operatives that are justifiably dismissed for this work is meant for people with commendable character.
