The Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, Ali Shamkhani, and his Saudi and Chinese colleagues signed an agreement to renew diplomatic relations between Riyadh and Tehran in Beijing.
I have already stated, in earlier articles, how President Joe Biden has been alienating the Saudis. President Trump, in support of the Saudis, had included the Houthis of Yemen in the list of terrorist organizations in the world. Joe Biden removed the Houthis from this list as soon as he became President
Whether you believe it or not, while Saudi Arabia was under ballistic missile attacks by this same Yemenis, Joe Biden pulled patriot missile defense systems out of Saudi Arabia. Like their name suggests, patriot missiles are “patriotic”; they are designed to protect the homeland by shooting down incoming missiles. This hostile action by Joe Biden, I earlier stated, did not go unnoticed by the Saudis. And they began an urgent pivot towards China, which is now the second largest economy in the world, after the USA, and the third most powerful country, after the USA and Russia.
What Game Are The Saudis Playing?
Of course they are playing for survival. In an earlier article, I stated how the Saudis lobbied President Trump for a strike on Iran’s nuclear weapons program. If Trump had gotten a second term, perhaps the Saudis would have been hopeful of such a thing happening, and it may have even happened by now. But with Joe Biden in the White House, it is no wonder that, beginning in 2021, the Saudis began to seek peace with Iran. This is not about goodwill; it is about survival. Since the US (under the Democrats and especially Joe Biden) can no longer be trusted to control Iran, the Saudis realized the danger of delaying to seek some sort of rapprochement with Iran, which is way more powerful than Saudi Arabia and can destroy Saudi Arabia if left unhindered.
The breaking news below proves that, even while seeking peace with Israel, Saudi Arabia is not willing to be antagonistic towards Iran and has now signed an agreement (under the sponsorship of China) to renew relations with Iran. Note that, unlike Democrats in the United States like to claim, none of the conditions the Saudis gave for peace with Israel has anything to do with the Palestinian issue. The Saudis are more keen to ensure their survival than get bogged down by the Palestinian issue. This was what Benjamin Netanyahu was able to convince President Trump about and that was the secret reason for the success of the so-called Abraham Accords, which has seen the normalization of relations between Israel and several Islamic countries. Benjamin Netanyahu told Trump that the Arab world only needed a strong and determined US President and they will be willing to make peace with Israel without making the Palestinian issue a precondition. Netanyahu was right and the fact that Saudi Arabia has now indicated willingness to sign a peace treaty with Israel, without even mentioning the Palestinian issue, proves that Donald Trump was one of the wisest Presidents America has ever had.
Incidentally, and shockingly, especially for those who do not really know Joe Biden and Barack Obama, the hindrance to the proposed peace between Saudi Arabia and Israel is now the United States. Can you believe that? I believe this is why the Saudis openly said that, as long as America can guarantee their security and permit them to develop a civilian nuclear program, they are ready to sign a peace deal with Israel. Now that this matter has been made public, there will be pressure from the US public and the US Congress for Joe Biden to give the Saudis what they want so that the Saudis can sign a peace treaty with Israel. In other words, except under some pressure, the Saudis do not trust Joe Biden to facilitate a peace deal between them and Israel. If it was Trump, he would have given the Saudis much more than they even asked for.
Below is the breaking news and my above statements are just to give perspective. If you understand what I have explained, you cannot blame the Saudis for the steps they are taking. After all, survival is the first law of nature.
