A real estate investor in Milwaukee, in the U.S. state of Wisconsin , Joseph Nantomah, who claims to be an award-winning expert in his field, is facing serious allegations of defrauding clients of more than $1 million. The accusations, made by over a dozen investors, suggest that Nantomah used their money to fund his personal luxuries rather than fulfil his promises of profitable property flips.
Court documents reveal that Nantomah allegedly enticed potential investors through social media, presentations, and seminars, promising significant returns on their investments. However, many investors claim that these promises were hollow, with some never receiving any returns at all.

One of the victims, a couple of Nigerian descent who invested $110,000, shared their story with Milwaukee-based TMJ4’s Lighthouse team. The couple, who wish to remain anonymous, explained that the money represented years of savings. They were promised an initial return by July 2023, but when the time came, they received nothing. Despite repeated attempts to contact Nantomah, they were only reimbursed $20,000 — far less than what they were owed.
The couple’s story is just one of many. OVB Law & Consulting, the firm representing the couple and nine other clients, has filed civil lawsuits against Nantomah.
“He blocks them or stops contacting them,” explained attorney Emil Ovbiagele, describing a pattern of behaviour where Nantomah allegedly evades accountability.

The emotional toll on the victims has been significant, with some even becoming homeless after investing their life savings in what they now believe was a fraudulent scheme. “Honestly, every single family, I would say, has a heartbreaking story,” said attorney Kate Goodhart.
In response to the lawsuits, Nantomah, according to the report, has denied all allegations of theft. He claims that it is not uncommon for some business partners to be aggrieved, given the volume of transactions he handles. However, public records show that one of the lawsuits has been resolved, though the terms of the resolution remain undisclosed.
Despite the ongoing legal battles, Nantomah continues his business activities. He is currently selling tickets for a “wealth conference” in Dallas, Texas, with prices ranging from $250 to $5,000.
