Loyalists and political associates of Bola Tinubu, the presidential flag-bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), crowded round the former Lagos State governor in excitement, following his announcement as the president-elect of Nigeria.
POLITICS NIGERIA reports that the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Wednesday morning declared Tinubu as the president-elect.
Some of the supporters who watched the declaration live with the APC candidate include his son, Seyi; running mate, Kashim Shettima; Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State, and the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Adamu.

The 70-year-old was declared the president-elect after he polled 8,794,726 votes to win the 2023 presidential election.
The INEC Chairman, Professor Mahmood Yakubu, announced the APC candidate as the winner at the National Collation Centre, Abuja.
Tinubu polled 8,794,726 votes to defeat fellow contenders – Atiku Abubakar of the opposition People’s Democratic Party (PDP) who polled 6,984,520 votes, Labour Party’s Peter Obi had 6,101,533 votes to come third and candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) Rabiu Kwankwaso with 1,496,687 votes.
