- Verydarkman agreed that the food portion was insufficient and lacked appeal, especially coming from a known name like Hilda Baci.
- He however reprimanded the lady her for ordering food instead of cooking.
Social media activist, Verydarkman (VDM) has weighed in on a viral complaint by Omotayo Zinnat regarding a bowl of pepper soup from celebrity chef Hilda Baci’s restaurant, My Food By Hilda.
Omotayo had expressed disappointment over a bowl of pepper soup she ordered from Hilda’s restaurant, describing the portion as small, unappealing, and even compared it to “dog vomit.”
She shared her experience of a tiring day at work, highlighting her decision to order the dish because she lacked the energy to prepare a meal.
Responding to this situation, Verydarkman acknowledged the validity of Zinnat’s concerns regarding the portion size and presentation of the meal, especially given the restaurant’s reputation.
However, he criticized modern dining habits, particularly among women.
VDM expressed a concern that some contemporary women have become too reliant on takeout instead of developing their cooking skills.
Reflecting on traditional norms, he argued that in the past, women often prioritized home cooking, viewing it as an essential skill for future family life.
According to him, the reliance on ordering food, especially before marriage, could lead to difficulties in preparing meals for families later on.
In his words:
“This world don really spoil o. Thinking about it, they said na wokeness and civilization. Before, women dey shame to say dem buy food for restaurant. Dem dey always look am like say dem dey pay for another woman’s food.
“No matter how tired a woman is before, she go cook for herself as a single woman. Because she go dey prepare herself for when she is married; would I tell my husband and children that I am tired; let’s order food. It doenst make sense.
“But look at this one, she come out freely to say how much is kilo of chicken? Why cant you use the energy to cook even if it’s noodles. As a woman, you have no right to make such a complaint.”
