- Kanayo O Kanayo explained how people often receive favours but fail to show appreciation.
- He advised his fans to cultivate the habit of gratitude, emphasising that unspoken appreciation is equivalent to ingratitude.
Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has shared his thoughts on the importance of gratitude in our interactions with others.
The veteran actor expressed concern over the growing trend of ingratitude, where people receive help but fail to show appreciation.
Kanayo highlighted the example of sending money to someone in need, only to receive a brief “seen” in response, lacking any expression of gratitude.
He emphasized that unspoken appreciation is equivalent to ingratitude, as it fails to acknowledge the kindness shown.
The actor encouraged his fans to cultivate the habit of gratitude, recognizing that no one owes us anything.
Kanayo said:
“Hello, my friends, I have one question. Why are people very ungrateful?”
“You do somebody a favour by sending him or her money and the person receives it and sends you a text saying ‘seen’. Seen? Come on! Do you think it’s your right? That’s an inheritance mentality; people are like this and it doesn’t show that you are grateful.
“Look, gratitude unspoken is ingratitude spoken. It’s not your right so learn to be grateful for whatever someone does for you. That way, the person will be encouraged to do more. Stop being selfish; be grateful because nobody owes you anything. Have a beautiful week ahead.”
In another story, Kanayo O Kanayo took a stand against the dangerous trend of money ritual among Nigerian youths.
The actor, who has been associated with ritualistic roles in his movie career, emphasized that there is no connection between offering human sacrifices and acquiring wealth.
Instead, he encouraged Nigerian youths to pursue success through hard work and legitimate means.
He debunked the idea that individuals living in thatched houses would ask others to commit heinous acts, such as killing their girlfriends, as a means to amass wealth.
He asserted that such notions are pure fiction and have no basis in reality.
