Adamawa: APC guber aspirant, commissioner, others bag NSE awards

The  Yola branch of the Nigerian Society of Engineers  (NSE) held its dinner/awards night and lunching of its Almanac which saw the conferment of Awards of Excellence on Engr. Diaulhag Abubakar, the youngest governorship aspirant in Adamawa state under the APC platform.

 Two other members of the association Hon. Audu Ayuba commissioner for water resources and Engr. Saidu Njidda also received the award for their dedicated services to the association.

Speaking at the event, the National President Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Engr. Ali Alimasuya Rabiu, represented  by the National ex-officio and member representing North East, Engr.Usman Abdu Abubakar, congratulated the awardees for their well deserved recognition.

He  described it as a reward  not only for past contributions but also as a catalyst for greater commitments towards supporting the programmes of the association.

He noted that at the core of engineering profession  is making meaningful impacts in the society, hence the need for the excos  and members of the association  to prioritised community – based  engineering projects  that directly improved lives.

 He  noted that people within their communities must feel the presence of Engineers  through visible, functional and sustainable infrastructure.

The president further called  on members to key into  ongoing programmes  under his leadeship  aimed at repositioning the association.

 He called for unity of purpose  with appeals on members to pay up their dues to enable the association function effectively.

Also speaking, the special Guest of Honour at the occasion, who is also the Federal controller of works in the state, Engr. Dimas Tuwai, presented a paper on issues surrounding cost fluctuations and variations in awards of contracts by government.

On his part, Engr. Dialhag  Abubakar, thanked the Nigetian society of Enginers Yola branch for finding them worthy of the awards.

 He promised not to let the association and the people of Adamawa state down but   spur them to do more by contributing their quota to the successes of the association and development of human society.
