NYT reported that two US officials confirmed Musk’s presence, which was an unusual appearance made by a private citizen on a call between two heads of states at a time of war crisis.
Musk’s inclusion also suggested that the world’s richest man is on better terms with the US President. Last year, the two had a falling out after Musk’s departure from the government, where he had been appointed to slash the work force.
NYT reported that it is unclear why Musk was on the call or if he spoke.
His firms have significant investments from sovereign wealth funds in West Asia, including Qatar and Saudi Arabia. Musk has also eyed a greater commercial presence in India.
