Blueprint.ng Newspapers has been commended for staying resilient and sustaining growth trend despite major industry challenges.

The commendation came from a polytechnic lecturer, Mr. Ben Akponine Samuel, of Yaba College of Technology (Yaba Tech), who lauded the media house for navigating obstacles to sustain growth amidst financial pressure in the country.

Akponine, who led students of Mass Communication Department, Yaba Tech on a visit to the Blueprint Newspapers office in Lagos, noted that though digital media poses a serious threat,  newspaper companies have done well to thrive in the circumstance.

He said the visit was an opportunity for students to learn and understand firsthand the organisation’s structure and acquire more knowledge on how the company operates.

He said the trip is aimed at enabling the students to complement what they have learnt in their class work, adding that they were also able to understand the process of newspaper production from news gathering to the printing of the paper.

He however said that to a larger extent this has opened doors for  students on how Blueprint operates specifically, noting that each media house operates differently.

Speaking on behalf of her colleagues, one of the students, Raji Abike Racheal said the explanations given to them during the interactive session were not only interesting but very educative and enlightening.

She said seeing professionals like reporters, editors, and other staff at work further enhanced their interest in media-related careers while also helping them understand industry dynamics

According to her, the visit provided an opportunity for the students to gain insight into how news is gathered, edited, and published, adding that this had promoted a better understanding of modern communication tools.

Also acknowledging that they practically experienced the newspaper production process which begins with gathering of news stories, editing of materials, printing and folding of the newspaper hardcopy..
