President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has directed security agencies to intensify efforts to prevent further attacks across the country, particularly in the northern region, following recent killings in Plateau and Kaduna states.

The President condemned the attack by gunmen in Angwan Rukuba and the abduction of wedding guests in Kahir village, describing the incidents as an affront to national values.

In a statement issued by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga on Tuesday, Tinubu described attackers who target vulnerable communities as cowardly, warning that such actions are often intended to provoke retaliatory violence and deepen tensions.

He ordered security agencies to pursue those responsible for the attacks and also warned against the spread of misinformation that could escalate the situation.

The President cautioned against reports suggesting the attacks were religiously motivated, stressing the importance of responsible communication.

Tinubu reaffirmed that security agencies are actively working to restore peace and urged members of the public to cooperate with authorities, including complying with evacuation and relocation directives where necessary.

He also called for the immediate rescue of remaining abductees from Kahir village and welcomed the safe return of two victims earlier rescued.

The President commended Caleb Mutfwang for efforts to contain the situation in Plateau and Uba Sani for supporting rescue operations in Kaduna.

Tinubu expressed sympathy to families of those killed and wished the injured a speedy recovery, assuring Nigerians that the Federal Government is acquiring advanced security equipment to help track and apprehend criminal elements in real time.
